5 Goals for February!

Summer Goal Setting

Ah, February, the shortest month of the year.  It isn’t so short to not accomplish a goal or five within it’s short 4 weeks.  I believe that every month holds the potential to be the best month of the year, no matter the length.

I love making and achieving goals by the month.  Goals are great and they help us to move in the direction we want go.  Achieving our goals builds great self confidence, helping us to feel a little more competent at life.

I have made a few goals for the month that I think would really help build my self esteem and establish ways to provide future self care.

Mirror Work. I want to participate in mirror work for 15 minutes daily.  Last month I completed the Hay House Loving Yourself 21 days to improving your self esteem with mirror work course.  I absolutely loved the course.  It has helped me to be able to raise my self esteem by talking to myself in the mirror, forgiving my past, getting in touch with my inner child, and recommitting to working on a relationship with myself.  I know it sounds silly, but it works.

Retreat. One of my children recently moved out taking or selling all the furniture except for the futon bunk bed.  I would like to transform this now nearly empty bedroom into a quiet guest room / retreat for crafting and enjoying my coffee in the morning while basking in the natural light that comes in the window.

Garden Prep.  I love gardening it’s my way to get my hands dirty and to ground myself.  The extras I get from gardening are beautiful flowers and tasty vegetables.  This is the month to start getting the garden ready for early spring planting in my zone.  I have my work cut out for me as I want to get back into the big garden this year.

Go On a Date.  I haven’t done this in a long time.  I want to go out on a date with myself.  I always have a great time.  I know I will have fun, and it should be interesting to see what I can find to do this time of year.

Routine.  Since starting a new job in December, my routine has been out of wack, so getting back on a day to day routine will be ideal for me this month.  I thrive on routine and I want to get back to thriving.

There we have it.  Five goals for February.  I just hope that the weather cooperates with me for a few days this month to be able to get my garden prepared for early spring planting.

I know I’m going to have to be very disciplined and work hard to accomplish these goals.  In the end I hope to finish out this month with a stronger relationship with myself, a garden ready for planting, a retreat, and a solid routine.
