Hobbies are ways we can say “I love you” to ourselves. Hobbies inspire us, fulfill us, excite us, and relieve us from stress. Our hobbies help us to replenish ourselves to help keep us on our grind to handle our responsibilities. What are your hobbies? If you haven’t found anything in particular that you enjoy, maybe the next thing you try will be the one that ignites your passion or calms your spirit.
Many hobbies that speak to you will coincide with your Love Language. Please see my post on learning your Love Language to determine which hobbies would be more enjoyable for your spirit.
Once you have an idea of where to start this journey into hobbies, it won’t take long to figure out what speaks to you. Many times for some, hobbies are the things that carry us through the mundane or dark parts of our lives. Hobbies are very therapeutic.
I have had many hobbies over the years. Just to name a few, my favorites are gardening, cooking, reading Amish romance novels, learning new skills, sewing, and crochet. I have known women who have taught themselves how to paint, crochet, make jewelry, and a host of other hobbies. Some have even made their hobbies their profession. Etsy.com is full of creativity and passion.
Not all hobbies are making something you can hold in your hand. Some hobbies can be adventurous; rock climbing, scuba diving, piloting, boating, dancing, stocks, blogging, hiking, traveling, body building, playing an instrument, running, fishing, volunteering, and on and on. The possibilities are endless!
No matter what you find to sooth your savage beast, I hope you continue to add more hobbies to your portfolio and broaden your enjoyment of life. Please let us know what you have found to build yourself up and sooth your spirit.
