It is absolutely crucial to have goals. Goals give us direction and something to strive for. Many of us have goals that we don’t outwardly say or write down to make them “official”, but we have them none the less. Some of us actively envision our goals on a daily basis to manifest them into reality. Some of us just Dream our dreams but never take the steps to make them come true.
In July 2021 I decided to have 1 big goal for the month instead of many goals. My Big goal for this month is to Plan Meals. Now there will be smaller goals that correlate with the large goal. This will help me to accomplish my master goal for this month and to set into my routine what needs to continue from there.
To Plan Meals I must:
Be consistent. On a weekly basis I will write out a menu and shopping list for the week. I will take the time on a daily basis to pull out or defrost ingredients as the menu requires.
Plan way ahead. I will take time on the weekends to do large scale prep for the week. This large scale prep would be things like breakfast sandwiches, overnight oats, breads, meatloaf mixes, meatballs, pre-marinated meats, and goodies. Some of these I would use throughout the week and some I would freeze in individual servings to use as needed. Some nights there will be casseroles where I can make 2+ and freeze the extras for another night.
Keep improving on infrastructure. This will happen naturally as I continue to stockpile baked goods and casseroles for later dates. Getting into the routine of planning meals weekly. Trying new recipes and adding to my favorites helps to keep up and build on Meal planning.
