October 1, 2021
It is absolutely crucial to have goals. Goals give us direction and something to strive for. Many of us have goals that we don’t outwardly say or write down to make them “official”, but we have them none the less. Some of us actively envision our goals on a daily basis to manifest them into reality. Some of us just Dream our dreams but never take the steps to make them come true.
In July 2021 I decided to have 1 big goal for the month instead of many goals. My Big goal for this month is to Walk 10,000+ steps daily. Thanks to working from home and the World Issues over the last 18 months my steps have dwindled down to 2000 steps if I’m lucky and 5000 on a good day. Now there will be smaller goals that correlate with the large goal. This will help me to accomplish my master goal for this month and to set into my routine what needs to continue from there.
To Walk 10,000+ steps daily I must:
Be consistent. On a daily basis I need to have my workout clothes laid out and ready for me each morning. Then I really make an effort to get up and get outside to walk. IF the weather is terrible outside, as in rain, snow, ice, tornados, and flooding, I will use a walk away the pounds video or climb on my elliptical to meet my daily goals.
New levels. In the beginning of this month I already have my goal set on my Fitbit for 5000 steps a day. Each week I will increase this by 1500 steps. I want to start moving my body more often and improve my all around health. What I mean by this is that exercise improves your cardio vascular system, your neurological system, your mental health, and skeletal system. I really can’t wait to feel better on a continual basis.
Keep improving. I want to keep adding to my step goal as time goes on. At first it will be 5000 steps. The second week will be 6500 steps, week the third week will be 8000 steps, and the fourth week will be 10,000 steps. I would love to move up to 15,000 steps per day and then decide from there whether I want to maintain that goal or move higher.
I think this is a great start and with some hard work and daily strides this goal is absolutely achievable.
To keep me accountable I will post every evening on Twitter and Instagram my efforts each day. To save time, it will be in one post. If you would like to follow me to keep updated with my Walk 10,000+ steps daily goal please click on the links to follow along.
What is your big goal for October?
